Maple Village Waldorf School is proud to provide a nurturing community where all individuals are seen and honored for the unique person they are.

Choosing a school is challenging for every family, but it can be even more complicated for some. LGBTQ+ students and families often face unique stressors when navigating the educational system like outdated forms using terms like “father” and “mother,” outlining pronoun preferences, and worrying about bathroom access for transgender and non-binary children.

Did you know that for many children the thought of having to choose which bathroom to use in the middle of school day can be the cause of extreme stress, resulting in anxiety, depression, and lack of ability to focus on schoolwork? These children may choose to reduce their intake of fluids and/or “hold it” all day, causing dehydration, physical pain, and discomfort. No one should have to deal with this daily stress. Maple Village is making plans to provide gender neutral bathrooms this summer, so ALL are Welcome to Go!

Maple Village practices inclusion and celebrate diversity every single day and is committed to ensuring ALL of our students, families, and employees are safe and held with dignity. Additionally, we are committed to being leaders in this work, by holding educational workshops on inclusion for other organizations, businesses, and schools.

Maple Village is in the process of purchasing our new home. As part of overall improvements, Maple Village is making plans to provide gender neutral bathrooms, so ALL are Welcome to Go. Help us weave a thread of unity and the feeling of belonging by donating to our ALL are Welcome to Go Campaign.
